Recently, there have been a lot of rumors about Barcelona's interest in Rodri, and Carragher also shared his thoughts in an interview with Sky Sports, stating that Manchester City should not sell Rodri for £40 million to £50 million.

Carragher said: "£40 million to £50 million? If you are Manchester City, what's the point of selling him at that price? You might as well keep him for another year. He is absolutely top-tier in his position in the Premier League, perhaps even the best. Look at his performance in the World Cup; it feels like he's back to his best."

"I think he and Bernardo Silva played exceptionally well in the second half of the season, almost leading Manchester City to the title. So, if I were the Manchester City manager, I would keep Rodri. Unless there's a very special reason, I wouldn't want to lose arguably the best midfielder in world football."

"I think even if they have many midfielders, without Rodri, it would be difficult for them to win the Premier League title. He is the best, and although they signed Elliott Anderson, I believe Elliott Anderson will learn a lot from Rodri."

"For me, I would see them as a pair. Elliott Anderson could almost replace Bernardo Silva, who has already moved to Real Madrid. So, I think that would be a big void, hard to fill."

"When Liverpool won the league under Slot, Rodri was injured early in that season, which was good for Liverpool but bad for Manchester City. So if I were Manchester City, I would keep him and let him leave on a free transfer."

"Manchester City originally bought him for £60 million. If they can now recoup £40 million, what can they do with that money? Not much, actually. So, if it were me, I'd rather keep him."
