Chelsea currently has no plans to sign E. Martinez. Despite previous reports linking the Argentine goalkeeper to Stamford Bridge, the Evening Standard, citing sources within Chelsea, states that the club is satisfied with its current goalkeeper setup and will not participate in the race for Martinez's transfer.

The Evening Standard understands that Chelsea believes its current goalkeepers are sufficient for the new season, with the current plan being for Robert Sanchez to be the number one goalkeeper and Mike Penders to be the backup.
Previously, as Martinez's future at Aston Villa became uncertain, there were rumors that Chelsea was interested in signing the Argentine goalkeeper.
However, sources within Chelsea have made it clear that even if Martinez's transfer to Juventus ultimately falls through, the club's stance has not changed – the Blues still have no plans to sign him. Chelsea is preparing for the 2026-27 season, and Sanchez is expected to continue as the team's first-choice goalkeeper.
Last season, Sanchez was temporarily dropped by then-manager Liam Rosenior, and Jørgensen was given a starting opportunity. However, this adjustment was not effective, and Sanchez quickly regained his starting position.
Now, with Xavi Alonso taking over, Sanchez is still expected to be Chelsea's first-choice goalkeeper for the new season.
Earlier, at the start of this summer's transfer window, Chelsea was briefly linked with Porto and Portugal national team goalkeeper Diogo Costa.
However, it is understood that Chelsea never actually considered signing Costa this summer. The Blues had already finalized their plans for the goalkeeper position early on, and they are satisfied with the existing Sanchez and Penders combination, so they have no intention of signing a new goalkeeper.
Young Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders, who was previously on loan from Chelsea to sister club Strasbourg, has been recalled early by the club this summer.
