Arsenal's £75 million signing of Bruno Guimaraes has attracted significant attention from fans.

However, with his current form, Christos Tzolis could well challenge him for the title of Arsenal's best summer signing.

Coventry's defense looked extremely uncomfortable against the Greek winger, struggling to deal with his effective runs.

After failing to establish himself at Norwich four years ago and now arriving in North London from Club Brugge, Tzolis has exceeded external expectations.

He contributed six goals in six preseason friendlies. Now that the season has begun, judging by his performance on Friday night, he is ready to make an impact in English football's top division.

After a series of forward runs, he consistently pressed the opposition.

This led to Arsenal's opening goal when he read the play well, dispossessed Milan van Ewijk of Coventry, and passed to Ricardo Calafiori, who set up Kai Havertz to score.

And that wasn't all. Eight minutes later, Tzolis's cross was blocked by goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, and Saka finished from the rebound.

Most impressively, he didn't fade after a few bright moments, as many forwards do. He remained energetic and hungry to get on the scoresheet. Ultimately, Tzolis didn't score, but his attacking intent was undeniable.

His willingness to be aggressive and create chances particularly stood out and won him the appreciation of fans in the stands. When he was substituted off in the second half, he received a warm round of applause from the entire stadium.

Fans have begun comparing him to Alexis Sanchez. It's too early to draw conclusions, but there are genuinely similarities between the two.

Face-on, low center of gravity, and relentless even when blocked—these are their shared characteristics.

This combination is what made Sanchez dangerous. If Tzolis can maintain this style of play, the left flank could belong to him, as Arsenal currently lack a key player in that position.

It's not only because both he and Sanchez wore number 17 for Arsenal; Tzolis has also publicly expressed his admiration for the player in the past.

Tzolis said: "I knew that he (Alexis) wore number 17. Of course, I've watched a lot of football, and he's a very good player for Arsenal, especially on the left wing.

"He's one of the players I admired growing up. And I see some similarities with him."

However, the most impressive aspect of all this is his decisiveness in the final third.

Once Tzolis enters that area, he can usually make the right passing or dribbling decision at the right moment without holding the ball too long.

This clearly contrasts with Gabriel Martinelli's style, as the latter typically takes longer to decide his next move.

Martinelli is his direct rival but was again left out of the lineup, also omitted from Sunday's Community Shield against Manchester City.

Eberechi Eze is another option for this position, and there could be competition between the English player and Eze, but for now, Tzolis is wearing the primary shirt.

Regarding Martinelli, his omission doesn't feel good.

Arsenal were prepared to let the Brazilian leave last summer, willing to sell him if a suitable offer came in.

Galatasaray are currently interested in him, but Martinelli doesn't want to leave. It remains to be seen what offers will arrive in the final week of the transfer window, and this player is getting closer to the exit door.

For Tzolis, however, the opportunity has arrived.

If he can maintain his Friday night form against Coventry, Arsenal's signing will look like a bargain.
