On August 28, Eintracht Frankfurt officially announced the signing of Freiburg goalkeeper Noah Atubolu on loan, with a mandatory purchase clause included in the deal.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper Noah Atubolu has joined Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from SC Freiburg until the end of the season. The Bundesliga side has secured a purchase option that will become mandatory if certain performance conditions are met.

Noah Atubolu was born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 2000. He joined Freiburg's youth academy at age 13 and progressed through the club's youth system. He made his senior debut for Freiburg II at 18 and was instrumental in helping the team earn promotion to the 3. Liga and finish as runners-up in the 2022-23 season. Following this performance, Atubolu became Freiburg's first-team starting goalkeeper at age 21.

Standing 1.90 meters tall, Atubolu kept 15 clean sheets in his debut professional season across the Bundesliga, Europa League, and DFB-Pokal. He went on to set two club records: a run of 609 minutes without conceding a goal, and five consecutive penalty saves in Bundesliga matches. His performances also earned him a place in the German national team's provisional squad.

With Atubolu in goal, Freiburg qualified for the Europa League and reached the 2025-26 Europa League final. He featured in all 15 matches of the competition, conceding just 13 goals throughout the campaign.

Noah Atubolu has made 125 official appearances for Freiburg's first team, as well as 81 appearances for the second team in the 3. Liga and regional leagues.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper has represented Germany at various youth levels. He earned 10 caps across the U17, U19, and U20 teams before becoming Germany U21's primary goalkeeper, accumulating 22 appearances—the most of any goalkeeper for that team. In summer 2025, he was runner-up with Germany U21 at the European Championship.
