Crystal Palace forward Mateta has suffered a muscle injury amid tensions with the club and potential transfer speculation.

Crystal Palace manager Steve Maupay revealed on Friday that French forward Jean-Philippe Mateta will be sidelined for at least four weeks due to a muscle injury.
Maupay stated in a press conference following the team's 4-1 defeat to Manchester City: "He suffered the injury two days ago during individual training at the end of a session. We'll likely be without him for at least four weeks."
"Muscle problem"
Maupay described the French international's injury as a "muscle problem".
It should be noted that in the days leading up to the transfer window closure, relations between Mateta and Crystal Palace had become strained. Mateta had raised concerns about the validity of the remaining term of his contract with Crystal Palace. According to the BBC, the French international formally disputed the final 10 months of his contract with the London club, which is currently set to expire in June 2027.
