Manchester United officially announced the nominees for the August Player of the Month award: Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, and Mainoo.

As Manchester United only participated in two official matches in August, the nominees are primarily based on the team's performance in the 5-2 home victory over Ipswich.
Manchester United bounced back quickly after losing to Hull City away in the first round of the Carabao Cup, eventually coming from behind to beat Ipswich 5-2 at home.
Bruno Fernandes was named Man of the Match in that game, scoring a hat-trick and assisting in the fifth goal with a lob pass.
This was Bruno Fernandes's third hat-trick for Manchester United. He currently leads the league's scoring charts and has broken the Premier League's all-time assist record this season.
Kobbie Mainoo also performed excellently, making his first start for the team since returning from injury. When he was substituted in the 80th minute, Mainoo received a standing ovation from the fans, and manager Carrick praised his performance as "excellent" after the match.
Rashford made his first appearance at Old Trafford since December 2024, and his performance showed no signs of rustiness despite his long absence from the pitch.
Wearing the Manchester United number 9 shirt, Rashford posed a constant threat to the Ipswich defence, with 7 touches in the opposition box and 4 shots, two of which forced saves from the Ipswich goalkeeper.
