Toronto FC officially announced that the club has signed 29-year-old winger Lewis Morgan from San Diego FC. As part of the agreement, Toronto FC provided San Diego FC with an international roster spot for the 2026 season.

Currently, the transfer remains pending completion of Lewis Morgan's International Transfer Certificate (ITC), work permit, and medical examination. He will officially join the team once these procedures are completed.

Toronto FC General Manager Jason Hernandez said: "We're delighted to bring Lewis in at this time. He's proven himself to be a highly impactful attacking player in the Eastern Conference over recent seasons. His versatility to play multiple positions in attack will be a significant asset to our club's future."

Lewis Morgan was born on September 30, 1996, and is from Greenock, Scotland. His move to Toronto FC will mark his seventh MLS season.

Previously, Morgan has played for Inter Miami, New York Red Bulls, and San Diego FC. In the 2024 season, he made 18 appearances for San Diego FC, contributing 3 assists, and made his San Diego FC debut on March 7 against Sporting Kansas City.

Before joining San Diego FC, Morgan played for New York Red Bulls over four seasons, making 82 appearances across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and providing 10 assists. In the 2024 season, he was named MLS Comeback Player of the Year following an outstanding performance with 29 appearances, 13 goals, and 7 assists, helping the team qualify for the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Morgan joined Inter Miami in January 2020, becoming a member of the club's inaugural roster. He made his MLS debut on March 1, 2020, against LAFC, and scored his first MLS goal on September 9 of that year against Atlanta United.

During his time at Inter Miami, Morgan made 58 appearances, contributing 7 goals and 7 assists. In December 2021, he joined New York Red Bulls on a permanent transfer.

Morgan grew up in Greenock, Scotland, and trained in the youth system of Glasgow Rangers during his early years. He joined St. Mirren at age 17 and signed his first professional contract in September 2013.

On September 27, 2014, Morgan made his Scottish top-flight debut against Celtic. From 2014 to 2018, he made 118 appearances for St. Mirren, scoring 29 goals and providing 23 assists.

In January 2018, Morgan joined Celtic. Over two seasons with the club, he made 31 appearances across all competitions, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists. He was also loaned to Sunderland in the 2018/19 season, contributing 2 goals and 4 assists during that period.
