In a Premier League match, Coventry suffered a 0-5 home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

After the game, Coventry manager Frank Lampard spoke to Sky Sports, stating that the team must face the intensity of the Premier League and emphasized that they cannot lose confidence despite this heavy loss.
Lampard said: "We have to be realistic about this league. They are a very good team. We started well, and what disappointed me most was conceding the second goal, which was a mistake that absolutely cannot happen at this level."
"If we look back at the game before the red card, we actually had some good spells, but after going down to 10 men against a team with many high-quality players, the game was completely different. The players fought until the end, but it certainly doesn't feel good. We have to take some responsibility and understand the level we need to reach."
Regarding the upcoming adjustments, Lampard said: "We just keep working hard. The season is only four games in, and we've already faced two of the toughest away games against Arsenal and Manchester City. We must always keep working; the feeling of playing in the Premier League is truly completely different."
"The pressure here is greater, and many players have never experienced this environment before. We won't wallow in self-pity; they must keep working and striving. I've been in situations like this many times before. I was more disappointed with the previous game against Hull City than today. Today we faced a Brighton & Hove Albion side that was very clinical in front of goal."
Regarding the positive response from Coventry fans after the game, Lampard said: "This means a lot to us; it shows they are still with the team. Everything I've experienced here over the past 18 months has been fantastic. We're not naive; we know that moving from the Championship to the Premier League is a huge leap, and we know how well we performed last season."
"We must be careful not to overanalyze this game based on how it unfolded. We need to maintain confidence and stick together. The players cannot become negative; we must face this together."
Lampard concluded: "The reality is that we have to execute in the final third, be able to score goals, and defend well while staying focused at all times. We must do better in these areas."
