Diego Simeone insisted he would not perceive Atletico Madrid's 3-0 win over Real Sociedad the wrong way.

Atleti returned to winning ways in LaLiga with three late goals at Estadio Municipal de Anoeta, starting with Alejandro Grimaldo's penalty in the 84th minute.

Jonathan David then netted on his league debut with Atleti, before Giuliano Simeone sealed the win deep into stoppage time.

Atleti scored three goals in the last 10 minutes of a match that was 0-0 in LaLiga for the second time this century, after also doing so against Real Zaragoza in June 2013 (3-1).

La Real struggled in the defeat, accumulating just 0.27 expected goals (xG) compared to Atleti's 2.05, with the visitors also creating more Opta-defined big chances (three to one).

Nevertheless, Simeone believes his Atleti side were far from perfect, despite the nature of the scoreline.

When asked if Atleti would receive praise because they scored three in the end, Simeone said: "I don't see it that way.

"We made the most of our opportunities in the game. We struggled in the first half; we had to endure a lot of pressure, we weren't comfortable. In the second half, we improved as the game went on.

"It's difficult to win without playing well. This time we took advantage of our opportunities, were clinical, and finished the game very well."

Simeone also said in a different interview with DAZN: "There's always joy when you win. There are always things to improve; we're in a building process, as I said recently, and I have no doubt about that.

"The club made an effort to bring in important players. The competition is fierce here, and that competition will be good for the team."
