John Ogu was on target for Hapoel Beer Sheva in their 2-2 draw with Dinamo Zagreb in Wednesday’s Uefa Champions League second round qualifiers, but the Israeli side crashed out 7-2 on aggregate.

Having lost 5-0 in Croatia last week, Beer Sheva had a herculean task in their hand at home. But Ogu gave his side hope after finding the back of the net 14th minute into the encounter.

Petar Stojanovic’s own goal 20 minutes later saw the deficit reduced to three goals. But second-half goals from Mario Budimir and Izet Hajrovic ended the hopes of the Israeli champions.

Ogu and striker Anthony Nwakaeme saw out the entire duration of the tie, and will turn out for their club in the 2018-19 Europa League campaign instead.
