The FIFA Council has announced that it will further increase the prize pool for World Cup participating teams.

The FIFA Council stated that, in light of the commercial success of FIFA men's events, FIFA has decided to further expand the World Cup prize pool to benefit all participating member associations.
FIFA increased team preparation funds from $1.5 million to $2.5 million, increased qualifying prize money from $9 million to $10 million, and added additional subsidies totaling more than $16 million.
The remaining revenue will flow into the global football sector, benefiting all 211 member associations.
In addition, the FIFA Council appointed Georgia and Armenia as hosts of the 2029 FIFA U20 World Cup.
