August 3rd, according to Mundo Deportivo, retired goalkeeper Adrian will remain with Real Betis, joining the club's sports management structure.

Real Betis announced this Monday that former goalkeeper Adrian, who hung up his boots after last season and announced his retirement in May, will continue his association with the club. Specifically, Adrian, in addition to his extensive professional experience, also has a strong academic background. He will join the sports management department led by Manu Fajardo, responsible for sports and institutional coordination.

Adrian's responsibilities include managing international relations, as well as following up on and supporting the development of young talent. Born on January 3, 1987, Adrian is from Seville and has been trained in the Real Betis youth system since the age of 10, making his first-team debut in 2012.

A year later, Adrian moved to the Premier League, playing for West Ham United and Liverpool, where he performed exceptionally and demonstrated leadership. During his time at Liverpool, he won seven trophies, including the Premier League, FA Cup, Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Community Shield, and two League Cups, before returning to Real Betis in 2024.

During his second stint at Real Betis, Adrian became one of the team captains, making 32 appearances and participating in the Europa Conference League final and the recent qualification for the Champions League.

Adrian also balanced his studies throughout his long playing career. In fact, the Sevillian holds a degree in Sports Activities and Sports Science, and has completed the UEFA Football Management course, the La Liga Global Player Program, and the FIFA Player Executive Program.

After the official announcement of his new role, Adrian expressed his satisfaction at remaining with Real Betis and his anticipation for starting a new phase. He stated: "I am very excited to be able to continue contributing in different areas. Indeed, my journey on the field has ended, but our lives continue. Being able to continue with the club is a source of pride for me. I want to thank Manu, Ángel, Josemi, Ramón, and everyone who trusted me to continue in this project. I hope we continue to grow together, and I hope to contribute my experience and the results of my continuous learning, even when I was playing, and to enjoy football from the other side of the pitch. Manu Fajardo also expressed his joy about Adrian's new role at the club: "We are very happy and very proud that one of our own will join the club to work and contribute in another role."
