Manchester United assistant coach Evans was interviewed by the club's official website, talking about his role in Tielemans' transfer to Manchester United.

Alright, we've just finished training at Carton House. Jonny Evans is with us. Jonny, how are you? How was your summer?

Very good, Solly. Very good, everything's great. It's great to be back, absolutely 100%.

How have you felt since returning to the training ground? Because obviously you've completed a lot of training now. The new Premier League season is approaching, what stage are you all at in your preparations?

Obviously, due to the World Cup, many players returned to the squad late. So at the beginning, we were just a small group, with many young lads joining in, which was excellent practice for them and great for us, it was nice to see them. Also, apart from coming to Dublin this week, we didn't arrange an overseas tour this time. So we've been training at Carrington, which I believe is a big change for everyone at the club. But it also allows us to complete high-quality training at home, and from that perspective, the atmosphere is a bit more relaxed.

This pre-season preparation method of traveling between different cities seems to be working very well, starting from Helsinki, then Norway, Sweden, and now Ireland. The whole trip seems to be progressing very smoothly.

Yes, I think from the coaching staff's perspective, everyone clearly feels it. And I believe the players also enjoy this method, being able to stay at home with their families every day while attending training on time. And from a coach's perspective, we can instill more things in them. It's fantastic, I think we have indeed been able to convey more information to the lads and try to implement more tactical ideas that we have prepared for the upcoming new season.

Now we've arrived in Ireland. Isn't it great to be able to have a week-long training camp together away from home, in a slightly different environment?

I think the timing is very good, and all the players who participated in the World Cup and returned have now arrived. Everyone returned to the team last night, you can see everyone gathered around the media table, and today was the first training session with everyone participating. It's really great to see this, you can start to feel this team coalescing into a whole.

Obviously, the new signings have all settled in and are performing well. Of course, due to the World Cup, Andrey Santos has had much more playing time than Tielemans so far. How are they adapting? We also saw the additions of Karl Darlow and young lad Tynan (Thompson). How are they all integrating?

Fantastic, I think we are all looking forward to seeing what happens next, as you said, everyone is back now. You just mentioned Andrey, he seems very comfortable since arriving here. He is an experienced professional player, although young, he has played quite a few games for Chelsea, and is a very reliable player. And I myself played alongside Tielemans at Leicester City for four and a half seasons. So I know Tielemans' ability very well, and he continued to prove himself at Aston Villa. So, you know, being able to add such excellent top players to the squad can only benefit us.

So you are obviously very familiar with Tielemans. So you shouldn't be surprised that he has integrated and settled in so quickly. We can even hear him communicating very proactively on the field. He gives off a sense of leadership.

He certainly does, 100%. Even during my time at Leicester City, he was one of those players who always maintained high standards and strict requirements. When the club had the right opportunity to sign him, the manager's first question to me was about him, wanting my opinion. One of the evaluations I gave was that he is one of the most professional players I have ever seen in this sport. His dedication is admirable, he always gives 100% without reservation, and brings everyone around him along.

I mean, you know better than most. To establish yourself at a club like this, you have to have a strong personality, don't you? And Andrey clearly doesn't lack that quality.

Indeed. And, not only that, they are excellent in themselves, you can feel their shining qualities from their technical skills and the way they read the game.

For you, as the coaching staff, we saw some very challenging but also very interesting training designs today. How difficult is it to constantly innovate while keeping training fun for the players?

That's up to Trav (Binion). He always comes up with great new ideas, many of which are actually warm-up games. But when you try to add a little competitive element to them, you immediately see the players perk up, and the real desire to win is ignited. Everyone really had a lot of fun in today's training session.

Yes, it was really great. The young lads also performed very well, didn't they? They didn't look awkward on the field at all. This is thanks to the youth academy system, which has produced these young players and endowed them with excellent qualities that allow them to quickly integrate into the first team.

Yes, 100%. Obviously, I myself have been through that stage, as a newcomer, you naturally want to feel welcomed by the senior players in the first team. This is a very important tradition of this club, the club's history is built on young talent. So it's great to see the older players in the team always open their arms to them and give them full support when they join. First and foremost, they themselves must train hard and be brave enough to challenge themselves, which is crucial. You come here fully equipped to show your strength, and while we demand strictness, we also need to give them enough care and support.

So let's just talk briefly about the last two pre-season games, first against Leeds United at Croke Park, which is an unparalleled sporting landmark. I can't wait to see a full house there, the atmosphere will be absolutely stunning.

I haven't been there myself before, so I'm very much looking forward to it, and the opponent is Leeds United. It's bound to be a tough battle, I think they've also had some good results in pre-season and are in good form.

Then, we will end the entire pre-season against AC Milan. Another heavyweight opponent, this should be a very exciting finale to this training camp.

Yes, completely agree. As the preparations deepen, you can see the team's condition. We are getting stronger and stronger, and the performance in the last two games was definitely the best so far, including the one against Paris Saint-Germain last weekend. You can see the cohesion and stability of the entire group and team gradually forming.

So, are you now full of confidence and anticipation for the upcoming new season?

Excited. I'm very excited and also very much looking forward to the dense schedule ahead. Looking back at last year, obviously since Michael took over in January, we didn't have that many games, although there were some cup competitions, but we didn't have European competition back then. And now we have European competition back, and everyone is eager to play. Games are what football is all about, and they are the source of excitement and focus for everyone. So I'm really looking forward to it.
