On August 13th, the Spanish Football Federation previously adjusted the kick-off time for the Celta de Vigo vs Osasuna La Liga first-round match due to pitch conditions. Osasuna officially announced that they completely disagreed with the Federation's change of the match date, but understood the situation of the pitch.

Osasuna has expressed dissatisfaction to La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation regarding a decision that harms the interests of the rojillos team and disregards previous agreements between clubs.

Club Atlético Osasuna hereby states that it completely disagrees with the new date redesignated for the match between Celta de Vigo and Osasuna, originally scheduled for this Sunday (August 16th). Although the home team has made every effort, the pitch conditions are poor due to fungal growth, making it impossible to hold the match on the original date, which Osasuna understands and acknowledges.

However, given the current situation, Osasuna and its fans are clearly the most affected party, so a new venue must be found for this match, or a new date acceptable to both clubs must be finalized. Celta de Vigo and Osasuna had previously agreed that September 24th or 25th, coinciding with the international break, would be suitable dates for the match. This would prevent an overly congested schedule for both teams and allow players to fully recover during this sensitive period at the start of the new season, when injuries are common. Both La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation were aware of this agreement between the two clubs.

However, neither La Liga nor the Royal Spanish Football Federation heeded this request, unilaterally deciding to schedule the match for Thursday, August 27th. This forces Osasuna to play a match on Monday, August 24th, followed by another on Thursday, August 27th, which also includes an away trip. The Federation did not even consider moving Osasuna's match against Levante on August 24th to an earlier date to allow the team more rest. This means that the team most affected by the match postponement, due to reasons entirely beyond its control, has once again become the most disadvantaged party under the new schedule.

For a competition organizer like La Liga, announcing a postponement only three days before a match on a Thursday is precisely the kind of last-minute schedule change we've become accustomed to – and the root cause of this chaos is the lack of planning and accountability from the organizers. Even worse, Osasuna had already shown understanding for Celta de Vigo's situation and had agreed on a new match date with the Galician team, but La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation completely disregarded the consensus reached between the clubs. This is purely an unacceptable disrespect. This disrespect is also evident in their complete lack of empathy, refusing to adjust the schedule for Osasuna's match against Levante, and forcing Osasuna's first two home matches of the season to be played on a Monday.

No rule, standard, or so-called explanation can justify making a decision that specifically harms a party already affected by the initial postponement, when both clubs involved had already agreed on a date, let alone presenting such a decision as "coordinated with the clubs." Furthermore, this comes just over 48 hours before the team's planned flight to Vigo. This is not football; this is La Liga.
