According to Goal.com, 2. Bundesliga team Werder Bremen has contacted Füllkrug.

The striker came through the Bremen youth academy and played for the team before 2013 and from 2019 to 2023. He performed best during his second stint at Bremen, not only becoming the team's top scorer but also being called up to the German national team.
Füllkrug then joined Borussia Dortmund for €17.25 million. A season later, he transferred to West Ham United for €27 million, but he never lived up to expectations, and frequent injuries also affected him. In the second half of last season, Füllkrug was loaned to AC Milan, scoring only 1 goal in 20 appearances, and ultimately the purchase option was not exercised.
Füllkrug's contract with West Ham United expires in 2028, but he must leave this summer. West Ham United has not even given him a new season number.
Recently, Füllkrug was linked with newly promoted Serie A side Venezia, but the transfer fell through due to West Ham United's demands for the transfer fee. The Hammers are currently asking for around €5 million, a figure that Bremen would also find difficult to accept, but this price could still be lowered before the transfer window closes.
Although Bremen already has four forwards – two new signings, Cédric Itten and Kenny Keten, Musah, and Dawid Kownacki, who may leave – the team is expected to continue strengthening its attack. It is reported that Freiburg's versatile player Eren Dinkçi's 1-year loan is about to be finalized, and Füllkrug may then also return. If he returns to his old club, he is expected to regain his form and push for a return to the German national team under new head coach Jürgen Klopp. Füllkrug last played for the German national team in the UEFA Nations League Finals in June 2025.
