On August 20th, Atletico Madrid's new signing, Cristian Romero, was officially unveiled. Romero spoke about his feelings and goals upon joining Atletico Madrid.

Emotions: "Thanks to the President. I told those around me some time ago that I wanted to make this change. Today is very important for us, to be able to join a great club. I believe this season will be great, and I am ready."

Fans: "I have played against Atletico Madrid several times and felt the support of the fans. So I really want to compete with my teammates, and I hope I can meet everyone's expectations. Thank you to the club for their efforts in signing me, and for the trust they have placed in me. I want to leave my name in the club's history, and the only way to do that is to win."

Coming for Atletico Madrid: "I hope so. I think what Julian and Simeone told me was very important... I hope I can meet the requirements and write my name into the history of this great club."

Julian: "I think he is in great form. I have always thought he is the kind of player who wants to keep scoring goals and make the fans happy... I think he is deeply committed, which makes me very happy."

Simeone: "He wants me to be a leader on the field, to help my teammates, and makes me feel like I am part of this big family. I will be very comfortable."

Joining Atletico Madrid: "This is a challenge I haven't completed yet in my career. I want to play in the three most important leagues in Europe, and now I am very close to that goal. It didn't happen last season due to some changes, but I am very excited now. I want to train with my teammates as soon as possible."

Contending for the championship: "Any player who always competes wants to win. No player at Atletico Madrid will have any other thoughts. We must take it step by step, but always maintain a winning mentality. The captain said it yesterday and has conveyed this message from day one. I hope we can lift a trophy this season."
