On August 20, Atletico Madrid defeated Malaga 2-0 at home in the first round of La Liga, getting off to a winning start to the new season.

It is worth noting that, away from the match, an Atletico Madrid fan put on a rather amusing “imitation show,” drawing attention back to the team’s previous trip to South Korea.
On August 9th, Atletico Madrid played a preseason match in South Korea against Premier League giants Man City. Atletico Madrid ultimately lost 1-3, suffering a defeat in their preseason warm-up.
However, for many fans in attendance, a moment before the match that evening left a deeper impression than the game itself. Before kickoff, San, a member of the South Korean boy band ATEEZ, was invited to kick off the game.
San appeared that day wearing an Atletico Madrid No. 8 jersey bearing his name on the back, clearly demonstrating his love for Atletico Madrid.
Before the official kick-off, San went to the center of the field and performed an improvised dance in front of tens of thousands of fans. As the music played, he performed a series of highly personal dance moves, completely igniting the atmosphere in the stadium. Afterwards, San took part in the match’s kick-off ceremony.
What was once a “magical” dance now seems to have become a classic scene for Atletico Madrid fans.
During the team's La Liga season opener, an Atletico Madrid fan outside the stadium perfectly mimicked San's dance moves from that time, recreating everything from his body sway to his signature moves while vividly imitating his expressions and rhythm. The performance was highly engaging, creating the feeling that “the person himself had taken the stage.” It drew the attention and laughter of other fans, immediately filling the air with a joyful atmosphere.
