According to Lee Ryder, Newcastle United's beat reporter for The Chronicle, manager Jaissle has admitted that the team's squad remains incomplete. After Nico Gonzalez joined, he hopes the club will continue to strengthen before the transfer window closes. It is understood that Newcastle also wants to sign a left-back and a striker.

Ahead of Newcastle United's 3-2 League Cup victory over West Brom, the club officially unveiled new signing Nico Gonzalez at St. James' Park. The Spanish midfielder will wear the No. 6 shirt and occupy one of the team's two defensive midfield positions.

However, Newcastle's recruitment work is not finished. It is understood that Jaissle also wants to add backup cover at left-back and sign another forward.
