According to Goal.com, Barcelona defender Cubarsi spoke about the performance of his new teammate Rodri. Rodri made his debut for Barcelona in their 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao.

When asked about Rodri's arrival, the Spanish center-back praised the midfielder, emphasizing that Rodri is a perfect fit for the team's playing style.

Cubarsi stated in an interview with Tribuna: "Rodri is the ideal defensive midfielder for Barcelona."

He added: "We also have Marc Bernal and Gavi, who can play in this position and have both had excellent seasons. But Rodri can help us reach another level, whether through competing with teammates, bringing motivation, or providing leadership within the team—he can make a real difference."

The match coincided with the Champions League group stage draw. Barcelona will face Manchester City, Aston Villa, Feyenoord, and Como at home, and travel to Paris Saint-Germain, Sporting CP, Galatasaray, and FK Qarabag.

Despite the team facing a challenging European schedule, Cubarsi stated that Barcelona players remain fully confident in their abilities.

He said: "We quickly glanced at the draw results but didn't spend too much time discussing them, because our focus was entirely on the match against Athletic Bilbao at that moment."

He concluded: "Now we will study the draw results in more detail, but we are not afraid of any opponent. We are Barcelona, the best club in the world. Whether we visit any away stadium or welcome any team at home, we will strive to put on a great performance."
