On August 30th, EFL Championship side West Bromwich Albion officially announced that Manchester United midfielder Collyer has joined the club on a four-year contract. According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, the total transfer fee is £8 million.

Collyer has left Manchester United on a permanent transfer to join West Bromwich Albion.

The central midfielder spent the first half of the 2025-26 season on loan at The Hawthorns and now joins permanently on an undisclosed fee, signing a four-year contract.

He is West Bromwich Albion's ninth permanent signing of the summer transfer window.

Collyer, 22, has represented England at youth level and spent time on loan at Hull City earlier this year, helping them secure promotion to the Premier League.

That season, he made 17 appearances for both clubs combined before returning to Manchester United for pre-season training. Despite a challenging previous loan spell at West Bromwich Albion, Collyer stated in an interview that when the opportunity arose, returning to the team was an obvious choice.

"I was desperate to come back for a couple of reasons," he said. "The size of the club is one. I also thoroughly enjoyed my loan spell here in the first half of last season."

"Another reason is the head coach, James Morrison. He was very keen for me to come back, and in football, that's all you want – a manager who values you and wants you to perform well."

"As I said, I enjoyed every moment of my loan spell here last season, even though I didn't perform to the level I expected. That's another reason why I wanted to come back: to show everyone what I can do and prove myself as a good player."

"To be honest, I watched most of West Bromwich Albion's matches in the second half of last season. I still remember how dominant they were when I faced them with Hull City."

"Loan spells help you mature. Although my loan spells last season weren't straightforward, I feel like I've grown mentally. I think now is the time to start a new chapter in my career and push forward with everything I have, and I'm glad I can do that here."
