Rudiger announces his retirement from Germany national team.

Rudiger:
After some careful consideration, the time has come for me to end my career with the national team and make way for the younger generation. 🇩🇪
When I first wore the DFB jersey back in 2014, I could never have imagined in my wildest dreams that it would eventually lead to 86 senior international caps for Germany.
Even though we failed to claim the major title in the last tournaments and had to accept some painful defeats, this period was an extremely special chapter for me that will shape me forever.
A huge thank you goes to:
My teammates: for every shared tackle, for the team spirit in the dressing room and at the team hotel, and above all for the friendships that will last far beyond football.
The entire coaching and support team: Thank you for your years of trust and the work you have put in behind the scenes. A special thank you goes to Jogi Löw, Hansi Flick and Julian Nagelsmann, who have accompanied and shaped me on my journey with the DFB. And also to Horst Hrubesch, my mentor in the youth national teams.
And of course to you, the fans: thank you for your support – especially for the incredible atmosphere at our home UEFA European Championship 2024.
For me, a new chapter begins now, in which I will focus entirely on my club.
Thank you for the journey we shared together.
