Botafogo announced on Thursday that Tiquinho Soares suffered a muscle injury in his left thigh and will miss Sunday's match against Palmeiras at Nilton Santos Stadium, a Brasileirão game.

The full-back is expected to return on the 12th for the home game against Red Bull Bragantino, also a league match. Tiquinho Soares felt discomfort in the first half of last Sunday's classic away game against Flamengo and was substituted early at Maracanã.

Tiquinho Soares underwent examinations on Tuesday afternoon. The results did not show a clear injury diagnosis, but rather myalgia, which is muscle pain.

Before the examinations, Tiquinho Soares went to the Lonier training center and left to undergo the tests. Upon leaving, he was met with fan protests. He was one of the few players who spoke with the protesting fans.
