Goal reports that Ivan Toney has criticized fans for booing his teammate.

After Al-Ahli defeated Al-Riyadh on Friday night, Ivan Toney's post-match comments were reported by Saudi Arabia's Asharq Al-Awsat: "We led 3-0 at halftime, and it's important that the fans support us."

He added: "I feel the fans constantly booing a specific player, and I don't understand that. The player hasn't made mistakes; he's here and is part of the team family. We need to stick together and support each other."

Ivan Toney concluded: "You can't boo a player and then expect him to perform well; I don't understand that. He's in a different country, he's young, and there's a lot of pressure. We stand by him, we're united, and that's what a family does."

Ivan Toney was referring to the boos directed at Ukrainian midfielder Artem Bondarenko by fans. Al-Ahli supporters had previously opposed Bondarenko's signing, believing the club needed a better midfielder, but the club ultimately went ahead with the transfer. The move angered fans, particularly targeting former Sporting CP sports director Rui Pedro Braz. The club decided to let him go on Thursday.
