According to TuttoMercato, Internazionale has full confidence in Josep Martínez and will not replace him with Provedel as the starter.

Chivu made his position clear after the away loss to Real Madrid: "Why mention Martínez? There's no need to talk about him. I'm more interested in those who can respond and bounce back."

After an error that led to Real Madrid's second goal, the former Genoa goalkeeper made a series of brilliant saves to keep Inter in the match, but Internazionale ultimately lost.

Provedel to remain on the bench

Chivu's approach is to demonstrate his confidence in Martínez through concrete action. The Spaniard was promoted to the starting role following Yann Sommer's departure. With that in mind, major changes are unlikely before the next league fixture. Internazionale will face Udinese at San Siro on Monday evening (CEST), and Martínez is still expected to start in goal. This decision is unsurprising, as Chivu has the experienced Ivan Provedel available as backup, who joined from Lazio this summer.

Martínez also addressed the loss on social media yesterday: "No journey is without falls and mistakes, both in football and in life. Getting back up in difficult moments, like yesterday, builds strong character, which is vital when defending these colors. I take responsibility for my mistake on the second goal.

Against a team like Real Madrid, you cannot concede two goals like that, because they will punish you.
