According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United's crackdown on ticket touting and misuse has concluded, with 685 accounts receiving season ticket bans. A further 464 fans received lesser penalties or final warnings.

Manchester United stated that the investigation identified 1,617 accounts with abnormal behavior requiring further review. Of these, 468 cases were resolved without further action after fans provided relevant information; 226 accounts received final warnings; and 238 accounts had their initial season ticket bans reduced to a ban on ticket forwarding for home matches and applying for away match tickets.

The season ticket bans for 499 cases were upheld following review by an independent appeals panel. These bans will last for one season, after which the affected fans can rejoin the season ticket waiting list. A further 73 cases maintained their bans after no appeal was filed, and 113 accounts were banned for repeatedly failing to respond to information requests.

Manchester United stated that season ticket bans were imposed on those with clear evidence of serious ticketing system misuse for profit, including operating organized ticket resale networks. The club stated that season tickets recovered through this action will be offered to fans on the waiting list, and banned ticketholders have received or will receive refunds.

Manchester United also stated that penalized ticketholders can refer their cases to the independent Football Ombudsman. The club will reallocate the season tickets after the international break, and tickets for these seats before then will be sold at the standard season ticket price, with the club retaining no profit from this process.
