According to SPORT1, Füllkrug and Dinkçi quickly became key figures after returning to Werder Bremen, contributing far more than just goals.

Werder Bremen general manager Clemens Fritz told SPORT1's "Doppelpass" show: "Our demand must be to bring energy to the pitch and ignite the stadium. Füllkrug and Dinkçi are both emotional signings, and both have ties to Werder Bremen. You know very well what these lads can bring to the club."

Reviewing last season, Werder Bremen found that often the energy on the pitch "had to be transferred from the fans to the players. That's not acceptable." Füllkrug and Dinkçi are precisely the players the club brought in to change this.

So far, the plan is working. Füllkrug, on loan from West Ham United, scored his third goal in his fourth competitive match in an away fixture against Köln, helping the team secure a point. Dinkçi, from Freiburg, has also scored. Effenberg said: "I think Fritz has hit the jackpot with both Dinkçi and Füllkrug. Both can integrate into the team immediately without needing an adaptation period. This could be a season without too many worries, which deserves great praise."

Fritz also spoke about Füllkrug's impact on the dressing room: "Füllkrug is crucial for the dressing room as well. He prepares before training and debriefs after training, and young players can develop under his influence."

Fritz revealed that both loans run until the end of the season, but the deals were not straightforward. Füllkrug has struggled with his form playing overseas in recent seasons, and this loan also carried sporting risks. Fritz said: "But in our conversations with him, we sensed that he was completely determined. Füllkrug is on fire. We can see that he is in top form and very combative—he wants to prove himself to everyone. Feeling that energy was very important to us."

Fritz also addressed the financial aspect: "This loan would not have been possible if he hadn't given up a considerable amount of money. As he said at his unveiling: 'He is being paid differently now, more in emotions.' We are very pleased to see him playing with so much passion and commitment."
