Jardim praised Bruno Henrique during a press conference, stating that his main objective is not personal gain, but rather the success of Flamengo.

Flamengo returned to the top of the Brasileirão on Sunday after defeating Corinthians 2-1 at the Maracanã in Round 27 of the competition. During the press conference, manager Jardim took the opportunity to praise Bruno Henrique. The 35-year-old has officially scored 9 goals this season and netted the decisive goal for Flamengo on Sunday.
Jardim said: "Of course, as everyone knows, I've been following Flamengo since 2019. That's when I met Bruno, not before. I know what he's accomplished over the past seven years, how important he is as a professional player and a goalscorer, but more importantly, his role within the team. He is humble and hardworking. When he needs to play, he plays; when he needs to sit on the bench, he sits; when he doesn't need to play, he doesn't. He always prioritizes what's best for Flamengo."
Jardim continued: "His main objective is not personal achievement, but Flamengo. His love for Flamengo isn't just 100%, it's 200%. I'm very pleased that he's been so important this season. Not every match is the same, as you mentioned—we also have Pedro, and today one of our young players, whom we recently signed, came off the bench and directly contributed to a goal (Joaquín Freitas). But Bruno is always invaluable; he's the type of player who knows how to win."
Speaking about Bruno Henrique, Jardim also took the opportunity to praise other Flamengo veterans, such as the 35-year-old Danilo and 34-year-old Jorginho. Jardim emphasized the team spirit these players display even when they're not starting.
Jardim said: "There have been many stars in world football, and I think some players don't know how to win because they always want to maintain the attention they received at their peak. Then there are players who know how to win, how to play, even when their physical condition isn't as good as it was a few years ago, but they're always thinking about how to help the team improve. Bruno and Danilo are prime examples. Danilo has an excellent track record, and I've never seen him unhappy. He'll say: 'The decision is yours, but when it's my turn to play, I'll be ready.' That's the type of serious, reliable player he is. Jorginho doesn't start, but he's had excellent performances coming off the bench. Having players like this in our squad is crucial for success."
On the role of physical preparation in Flamengo's dominance in the match, Jardim said: "Players' performance on the pitch is related to what they train for daily; they train to play matches like this. In our area of responsibility, we work as hard as we can to create the best conditions for them to apply what they've trained for. The team also has the ambition to be proactive and apply constant pressure; that's our style. We had 33 shots throughout the match while our opponent had only 3; 10 shots on target compared to their 1. If the match ended in a draw, that would be a huge injustice to football. It's not just about the result, but the quality of the performance. Despite supporting Flamengo, I sometimes just enjoy watching football. If today ended in a draw, that would truly be unfair."
