According to Brazilian media outlet "Ge", Ronaldo and AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale have joined a consortium negotiating with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) to acquire Al-Nassr, which the PIF currently holds a 75% stake in.

The acquisition proposal consists of five investors. In addition to Ronaldo and Cardinale, the consortium includes three Saudi entrepreneurs with ties to the Saudi sports market and local business sector. The group plans to submit an offer to the Saudi Public Investment Fund to acquire control of Al-Nassr, though negotiations are not yet complete.

Cardinale has owned AC Milan since 2022, when his investment firm RedBird Capital Partners acquired the Italian club. Cardinale has previously invested in other sports, and if the Al-Nassr acquisition is finalized, his influence in international football will expand further.

According to media reports, Ronaldo currently holds a 5% stake in Al-Nassr, and his stake could increase further if there is a change in the club's ownership. Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr at the end of 2022, becoming the team's top star and one of the iconic figures in the expansion of Saudi football.

The deal amount has not yet been officially confirmed. According to reports, the five consortium members need to invest hundreds of millions to facilitate the acquisition. The group also needs to reach an agreement with the Saudi Public Investment Fund on the transaction terms.

This move further expands Ronaldo's footprint as a football investor. In February this year, the striker acquired a 25% stake in Almería of Spain's Segunda División and became a club shareholder.
