Referee RaĂşl Orosco charged a penalty by the video ref signal when in the first instance he had not charged it. But in Bolivia, the VAR technology is not used.

RaĂşl Orosco, a referee who led the game between Always Ready and BolĂ­var, in the Bolivian championship, left a curious and controversial image in equal parts when he indicated a penalty after making the VAR gesture. Something unusual because in Bolivia VAR technology is not yet used to correct these types of situations.

The 95th minute of the match was reached when a set in the Bolivar area was claimed by the local team as a possible penalty. The referee Orosco went to the band and after making some consultations he returned to show the gesture of the VAR, put his hand to his ear and point to the penalty spot.

Bolivar's players and coaching staff could not believe it but to his satisfaction, the launch went to the post and immediately the final whistle was signalled. After that, a huge clash formed on the court between the two teams. Although they added the three points, the outrage over what happened was evident.

Nor were the locals satisfied. In the throw from the eleven meters, you can see how a defender overtakes and appears almost at the height of the ball before the shot occurs.
