Neymar recently stated in an interview that he currently has no plans to retire but is unsure what his plans will be after his contract with Santos expires.

Before attending the 6th Neymar Jr. Institute auction, Santos' No. 10 revealed that he is still unsure when he will announce his retirement—his contract with Santos runs until the end of this year.
Neymar stated in an interview on his personal channel that he is not currently considering retirement: "I don't know how much longer I will play, I haven't thought about stopping, and I don't know how long I can play. My contract with Santos is until December."
"I intend to fulfill this contract, defend the Santos jersey in the best possible way, and then, after the contract ends, I will consider whether to stay at Santos, leave, retire, or continue playing," Neymar said.
He concluded by saying that his condition is improving. "I really don't know what I'll do next. There's still some time until December, so let's take it one step at a time. I feel better and better physically on the field, which is the most important thing."
Neymar has recently suffered injuries that affected his preparations for the 2026 World Cup, but he has recovered and has received more playing opportunities at Santos. He will be included in the squad list for the second leg of the Brazil Cup against Remo this Tuesday (4th).
