According to RMC Sport, Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool are in talks over a transfer for Barcola, but the two sides remain far apart in their valuations.

Will Barcola leave Paris before the end of this month? That is one of the major uncertainties in the European transfer market right now. The 23-year-old winger has refused to extend his contract with Paris, with his current deal running until 2028. The player himself is open to leaving, and the club is as well. If he does depart in the coming weeks as part of a package deal, the Lyon-born player would prioritize a move to Liverpool. The Reds and their Spanish head coach Iraola greatly admire the qualities of Paris Saint-Germain’s No. 29.
However, an agreement still needs to be reached between all parties, and at present that is far from being achieved. Paris and Liverpool are in talks over a transfer for the France international (28 appearances, 6 goals), but the verbal offer and deal structure proposed by the English side remain far short of Paris's proposed price.
As RMC Sport reported in July, PSG's hierarchy has set a very high price internally for the former Lyon attacker, who joined in the summer of 2023 for €45 million. Taking into account the recent transfers of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea (€138 million) and Elliot Anderson to Manchester City (€135 million), PSG have priced Barcola at €170 million.
This amount would make Barcola the third-most expensive transfer in football history, behind only Neymar (€222 million) and Mbappe (€180 million), both of whom were signed by Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2017.
Arsenal have also made enquiries about Barcola's situation. He has just represented France at the 2026 World Cup, where he impressed, scoring three goals in matches against Senegal, Sweden and England. Last season, the former Lyon player made 49 appearances for Paris in all competitions, including 35 starts, scoring 13 goals.
