According to football-italia, Roma has set its sights on Molina and made an initial offer of €16 million to Atletico Madrid.

There are increasing reports that Roma has shifted its transfer focus to Atletico Madrid's Argentine international Molina, submitting an offer of €13 million in fixed fees plus €3 million in add-ons.

After Celik's departure, Roma's first choice for the right-back position was Feyenoord's Lutsharel Geertruida, but after their offer of up to €25 million in fixed fees plus €3 million in bonuses, with a 10% sell-on clause, was rejected, the team seems unwilling to increase their bid.

According to Italian sports channels, Molina has become Roma's next target, as his cost-effectiveness is far superior to Sporting CP's David-Iván Fresneda.

Now, Il Tempo reports that Roma has submitted an initial offer to Atletico Madrid, totaling €13 million plus €3 million in add-ons.

This deal is highly feasible because the 28-year-old player, who joined Atletico Madrid in 2022, only has one season left on his current contract.

He is no stranger to Serie A, having played for Udinese between 2020 and 2022 before moving to La Liga for a transfer fee of €20 million.

Molina has played 65 senior international matches for Argentina and featured as a starter throughout this summer's World Cup, helping the team finish as runners-up.

Gasperini and Roma's new director, Tony D'Amico, previously worked together at Atalanta, where they had both attempted to sign this player.
