Xabi Alonso spoke to the media after Chelsea's pre-season friendly against Juventus.

Chelsea lost 0-1 to Juventus in a pre-season friendly at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Sports Park. Xabi Alonso then provided an update on Colwill and Palmer.

Alonso told reporters after the match: "Yes, they have some issues, not injuries, but more like discomfort. Palmer and Colwill both have minor problems, so there was no need to risk them today, and hopefully they'll be fine by Saturday."

When asked if Palmer's issue was a recurrence of the groin injury that bothered him last season, Alonso said: "No, it was a collision injury. He took a knock against Tottenham, so it's not that issue."
