On August 8, Barcelona player Fermín spoke about Araújo's departure to Liverpool.

Speaking about Araújo's departure, Fermín said: "He came to say goodbye. It's a shame because he is a captain and I have a good relationship with him. He made this decision hoping to continue growing. I hope he can come back next season."
Regarding his own condition, Fermín said: "I feel good. I still need to get back into the rhythm of the game, but overall I feel good. I really want to play. This summer was very difficult for me, but now I have recovered and I'm looking forward to the new season."
As for the potential departure of his teammate Ferran Torres, Fermín was unwilling to comment: "I don't want to talk about it because I don't have enough information. He is a very good teammate and my friend. I hope he makes the best decision for himself."
Fermín also did not express a clear opinion on Rodri's potential arrival: "Similar to Ferran's situation, I don't have all the information. Rodri is an excellent player, but he is not currently at the club. Any decision made by Deco and the sports management will be the right one, and if it's meant to happen, it will happen naturally."
