According to multiple Italian sources, Internazionale is set to open a new round of negotiations this week for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones, after the English midfielder did not travel with Liverpool for Sunday's friendly against Como.

Corriere dello Sport, Tuttosport, and Mediaset Sport all confirm that Jones is eager to join Internazionale, but the Nerazzurri are unwilling to meet Liverpool's €40 million asking price, particularly because Jones has less than one year remaining on his contract with Liverpool.
Jones did not participate in Liverpool's friendly match against Como on Sunday, with the official reason given as hip discomfort.
However, Mediaset Sport points out that the explanation given by Liverpool's medical staff was a "white lie," and the real reason for the 25-year-old midfielder's absence is his desire to join Internazionale for the 2026-27 season.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Internazionale is preparing an offer of a €30 million base transfer fee plus add-ons, a strategy identical to their previous signing of Spence from Tottenham.
After the World Cup, Tottenham Hotspur had initially set a transfer fee of nearly €50 million for the English wing-back, but the North London club lowered their asking price in August, allowing Internazionale to sign the former Genoa player on their own terms.
