Sassuolo has officially announced the signing of Italian forward Sebastiano Esposito on loan from Cagliari until June 30, 2025, with an option to buy included in the contract.

Esposito was born in Castellammare di Stabia, Italy, in 2002. He was introduced to football at a young age, as his father was a professional player. In 2011, Esposito moved with his family to join Brescia's youth academy, where he spent three years.

In 2014, Esposito joined Inter Milan's youth academy and quickly impressed, playing in age groups above his own. At just 16 years old, he made his debut for Inter Milan's U19 team.

In March 2019, Esposito made his first-team debut as a substitute in a Europa League match, becoming the youngest player in Inter Milan's history to debut in a European competition.

In the 2019/20 season, Esposito was promoted to Inter Milan's first team and made his Champions League and Serie A debuts. He became the youngest player in Inter Milan's history to debut in the Champions League and the first player born in 2002 to debut in Serie A.

On December 21, 2019, in Inter Milan's home match against Genoa, Esposito made his first start and scored his first senior goal.

Esposito subsequently embarked on several loan spells. In the 2020/21 season, he played for SPAL and Venezia, making 10 appearances and scoring once for SPAL before joining Venezia and helping them gain promotion to Serie A.

In the 2021/22 season, Esposito joined Basel on loan, making 34 appearances across all competitions and scoring 7 goals, including one in the UEFA Europa Conference League. In the 2022/23 season, he moved to Anderlecht, making 21 appearances and scoring 2 goals, before joining Bari in the winter transfer window, where he scored on his debut.

After making 15 appearances for Bari with 4 goals and 2 assists, Esposito was loaned to Sampdoria, where he scored 6 goals and provided 6 assists in 23 matches.

In 2024, Esposito returned to Serie A on loan at Empoli, scoring on his Coppa Italia debut and adding 9 more goals in 37 appearances overall.

Following his loan spell, Esposito featured in the Club World Cup with Inter Milan before joining Cagliari. In his only season there, he contributed 8 goals and 6 assists, including a goal against Sassuolo in Cagliari's victory.

At international level, Esposito has represented Italy's youth teams from U16 onwards, earning 52 caps and scoring 26 goals. He was runner-up with the Italy U17 team at the 2019 UEFA European Under-17 Championship.

Esposito will now begin a new chapter in his career in Sassuolo's black and green colors.
