U. S. Sassuolo Calcio announces that it has acquired the playing rights of midfielder Kakari Ibrahim Sulemana (born 2003) from Atalanta, on a loan deal with an option to buy running until 30 June 2027.

U. S. Sassuolo Calcio announces that it has acquired the playing rights of midfielder Kakari Ibrahim Sulemana (born 2003) from Atalanta, on a loan deal with an option to buy running until 30 June 2027.

A native of the city of Sunyani in Ghana, Ibrahim started playing for his hometown team, until in 2019 he took part in several trials in Italy. There he was scouted by Atalanta, who signed him for the club's Under-17 squad, and after two seasons in the blue and black colours he moved to Hellas Verona, joining the club's Primavera youth team.

During the 2022/23 season, Sulemana made 18 appearances, scored 1 goal and provided 3 assists in the Under-19 championship, earning his first call-ups to Serie A. He made his top-flight debut against Salernitana on 9 October, and played the full 90 minutes in the play-off between Hellas Verona and Spezia at the Mapei Stadium, a result that ensured the Scaligeri retained their place in the top tier.

In the summer of 2023, he was signed by newly promoted Cagliari, and in January he scored the first of his two goals for the rossoblu in 24 appearances; the following year he returned to Atalanta, where he netted 2 goals in 9 matches, including the decisive one that secured qualification to the Champions League. In September 2025, he joined Bologna on loan, before moving to Cagliari in January: with the Sardinian side, he made 16 appearances and scored once in the second half of the season, helping the club comfortably avoid relegation.

He received his first call-up to the Ghana national team in 2024 for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, making his debut against Mali on 6 June, and has gone on to earn a further 6 caps since then.
