Atletico Madrid have confirmed the loan departures of Jose Maria Gimenez and Thomas Lemar.

The long-serving duo have been with Atletico since 2013 and 2018, respectively.

Defender Gimenez joined from Danubio in his native Uruguay in 2013, and has been a stalwart in Diego Simeone's defence.

He has played 384 games for Atletico, and was a key part of the defensive unit that helped Simeone's side reach multiple Champions League finals and win LaLiga twice.

Gimenez has joined Deportivo La Coruna for the rest of the season.

Deportivo have also signed Barcelona youngster Marc Casado.

Lemar, meanwhile, is heading to Elche on a temporary basis.

The Frenchman signed from Monaco on the back of playing a key role in his nation's World Cup triumph in 2018.

Lemar has made 186 appearances for Atletico, scoring 11 goals and laying on 19 assists. The winger spent last season on loan at Girona, who were relegated from LaLiga.

Meanwhile, Atletico's fellow LaLiga side Sevilla have completed a loan move for AC Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana.
