Tim Sherwood believes Sesko is currently not the "answer" for Manchester United's attack, and Carrick has demonstrated that he is not yet ready to give the striker full trust in this season's campaign.

While Sesko showed good form in the second half of last season, in the first three matches of the new Premier League season, he has mostly come off the bench.

"Sesko is not the answer because nobody wants to give him a chance. He comes off the bench, plays well, and scores a few goals from the bench. But if he really had top-quality, don't you think Carrick would use him? Of course he would. He wouldn't want to put other players in unfamiliar positions."

According to Sherwood, despite Manchester United spending heavily on André Santos, Tielemans, and Lavia in the summer, the club's midfield still raises many questions.

He said: "I think they need someone to protect the defense. Tielemans is very good, he can pass forward and control the tempo. Mainoo is good too, and so is André Santos."

"I think Lavia is the type of player who runs all over the pitch, he's everywhere. You wind him up and he won't stop running all match, but I'm not sure if he knows how to just sit in front of the defense and do the protective job. They will need a player like that."

Manchester United's next match is an away trip to table-toppers Manchester City, which will be their toughest test yet. Manchester City have won all three of their matches this season, earning 9 points.

However, according to Sherwood's view, Carrick and the team should not panic yet.
