Two draws, two losses, zero goals. This is the first time in Tottenham Hotspur's history that they have failed to score in their first four league games. With only two points from four Premier League matches, this is also Tottenham Hotspur's worst start to a Premier League season in 17 years, since the 2008-09 season.

In the 2008-09 season, Tottenham Hotspur lost 1-2 to Middlesbrough, 1-2 to Sunderland, drew 1-1 with Chelsea, and lost 1-2 to Aston Villa in their first four matches, accumulating only one point. Tottenham went on to record two draws and six losses across the season's opening stretch, creating the worst season start in the club's 126-year history. Head coach Juande Ramos was dismissed, and Harry Redknapp took over. He ultimately led the team to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League and reached the League Cup final.
Tottenham Hotspur will face Aston Villa, who have also not won a game yet, in the fifth round. De Zerbi's primary task is to get the team scoring goals and regain their confidence.
