Official reports indicate that Swiss midfielder Simon Sohm has officially left Fiorentina, transferring to Venezia on loan with an option to buy for €10 million.

Venezia officially announced the new signing: "Venezia Football Club announces that it has acquired midfielder Simon Sohm on loan from Fiorentina, with an option to buy. Sohm came through the FC Zürich youth academy, making his first-team debut on October 28, 2018, and also playing two Europa League matches that season. His experience in the Swiss top flight concluded in October 2020, with 39 appearances, 1 goal, and 2 assists.

In the autumn of 2020, he joined Parma, making a total of 155 appearances in Serie A and Serie B, contributing 7 goals and 13 assists. In the summer of 2025, Sohm was signed by Fiorentina, then loaned to Bologna in January 2026, returning to Fiorentina at the end of the season. In the 2025/26 season, he made 37 appearances across league and European competitions, delivering 1 goal and 1 assist. Sohm progressed through various Swiss youth national teams, making his debut for the Swiss senior national team on October 7, 2020, and currently has 4 caps."

Sohm also shared his thoughts after signing: "I chose to come to Venezia because Director Antonelli presented me with an ambitious project that immediately impressed me. I am truly happy to be here.
