On August 5th, Liverpool officially announced the jersey number for new signing Victor Muñoz.

According to Liverpool's official announcement, new signing Victor Muñoz will wear the team's number 23 jersey, becoming the first Liverpool player to wear the number 23 jersey since Luis Díaz.

Luis Díaz chose the number 23 jersey when he joined Liverpool in January 2022, and then switched to the number 7 jersey for the 2023-24 season. In the Premier League era, Robbie Fowler, Carragher, Emre Can, and Shaqiri have also worn Liverpool's number 23 jersey.
