Crystal Palace have announced the signing of Axel Disasi on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The deal does not reportedly include an option or obligation to buy at the end of the campaign.

Disasi joined Chelsea back in August 2023, signing a six-year deal, but he has spent periods of the last two seasons out on loan.

Overall, he has made 61 appearances for Chelsea but joined Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-25 campaign before doing the same with West Ham last term after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge.

He did not feature in the Blues' Premier League opener – a 3-2 win over Fulham on Monday – and now joins Palace, who are preparing for a season in the Europa League after their Conference League triumph in 2025-26.

"I'm very happy. The club has been going in a very good direction, so I think it was the right place for me to keep going," Disasi told the club's website.

"I know that it's very tough to play against Palace at Selhurst Park – so I'm looking forward to being on the other side now!"

Disasi joins at a good time to bolster Palace's defence after Chadi Riad was stretchered off during Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Everton in their Premier League opener.

The Eagles face Manchester City next on Friday, looking to secure their first win under new boss Pierre Sage.
