Vitinha and Marquinhos scored in stoppage time as Paris Saint-Germain came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Lille.

Davide Ancelotti looked all set to mark his first Ligue 1 home game in charge of Lille with a victory when Dilane Bakwa curled in a sumptuous strike in the 84th minute.

Bakwa's goal made it 2-0 to Lille, who had turned in an excellent display at Stade Pierre-Mauroy but were undone by a stunning comeback from the reigning European champions.

Achraf Hakimi had hit the post for PSG and Olivier Giroud had already gone close to an opener before the Frenchman played a part in Lille going ahead in the 21st minute.

Giroud brilliantly held up the play and laid it off for Hakon Haraldsson, who picked out the top-right corner in sensational style.

PSG were limited to just one shot on target in the first half, and Lille seemed to have the points all wrapped up when Bakwa climbed off the bench to superbly double their tally.

However, in the 91st minute, Vitinha found the top-left corner with unerring accuracy, and just like they did against Rennes last week, PSG found an equaliser.

Vitinha went from scorer to creator as he dug out a cross into the danger zone, where Marquinhos was on hand to head home.

PSG get themselves out of bother again

Last week, PSG relied on Ligue 1 debutant Ferran Torres to salvage a point. This time around, they left it even later.

That fighting spirit will no doubt thrill Luis Enrique, but he will also know his team cannot keep handing opponents head starts. It would be fair to say PSG appear a little undercooked after their exploits last season.

They were also without some key players on Friday. Ousmane Dembele did not feature as PSG aim to manage his minutes, while Bradley Barcola looks set to join Liverpool and so was not in the squad, meaning a new-look front three of Ferran, Desire Doue and Maghnes Akliouche.

PSG also appear to have struck an agreement with Aston Villa for Ibrahim Mbaye, which denied Luis Enrique of another attacking option, though his team did still finish with 1.29 expected goals from 18 shots, to Lille's 1.09 xG.

This is only the second time in the last 60 Ligue 1 seasons that a team has avoided defeat despite being two goals down entering injury time, after Nice against Lyon in April 2011 (also 2-2).

However, PSG have failed to win their opening two Ligue 1 matches of a season for only the third time in the last 13 campaigns, after 2023-24 (D2 – 1st at the end of the season) and 2020-21, so Luis Enrique will be expecting a sharper display against Monaco next week.
