According to L'Equipe, Varane inaugurated the new training pitch named after him at RC Lens.

As a continuously developing club, RC Lens prioritizes solidifying its foundations in all strategic planning.

Benjamin Parrot, General Manager of RC Lens, who previously served as the club's Public Relations Director, explained the decision to invest 7 million euros this summer in renovating the La Gaillette training center: "To some extent, we chose to 'sacrifice' transfer budget in favor of investing in our own development." The renovation of this facility, located in Avion and serving as Lens' training center since 2002, is one of the core projects of the club's "Three-Year Action Plan."

On Monday at noon, Raphaël Varane, a member of the 2018 World Cup-winning team and an iconic figure from the Lens youth academy, officially inaugurated the new training pitch named after him. This pitch is the "finishing touch" of the renovated La Gaillette center.
