According to Sport1 in Germany, Stuttgart striker Tiago Tomas will be out for several weeks. Head coach Sebastian Hoeness stated on Thursday that the Portuguese player sustained a "slight muscle injury" in training and will not return "until after the international break."

Tiago Tomas previously started in the first two official German Cup matches, including a 4-0 away victory over Rostock and a 5-1 away loss to Bayern Munich in the second round. This weekend, Stuttgart will face Cologne in their first home league match of the season.

Before the international break at the end of September, Stuttgart will also play Norwegian team Viking in the Champions League, challenge Hoffenheim away in the league, and host Dortmund.

Hoeness will also continue to be without defenders Dennis Seimen, Jaquez, Zagadou, and Nartey, as well as forwards Jeremy Arevalo and Dier. Assignon has returned to full training, and Führich has also "participated in most of this week's training." New signing Leo Sauer will be in the squad for the first time against Cologne.
