Barcelona is in advanced negotiations with Fariñas regarding a new five-year contract. The 20-year-old has a current market value of €2.5 million and was registered for Barcelona's first team this season, wearing the No. 4 jersey.

According to previous reports, Fariñas' agent Borja García visited Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Thursday to meet with the club's sporting director. The talks progressed very positively, and the contract extension is nearly finalized.

The negotiations have made significant progress, and there should be no obstacle to the player remaining with the club through 2030. His salary will be increased to reflect his elevated status within the team, and his release clause, currently set at €15 million, will also be raised.
