Shortly after David Raya saved an opponent's penalty, Guimaraes struck with a long-range shot in the 58th minute, helping Arsenal secure a 1-0 lead at the Stadium of Light.

The goal came in Guimaraes' fourth appearance for Arsenal across all competitions. The 28-year-old Brazilian midfielder joined the Gunners from Newcastle United this summer.
