Boudi and Elliot Anderson were interviewed by Sky Sports together, discussing their adaptation to Manchester City, the new midfield's cohesion, and the upcoming Manchester Derby. This article covers Anderson's part.

How have you found settling into life at Manchester City so far?

It's been great. I think if things on the pitch go as well as they are off the pitch, then everything will be even better, of course. Both of us have obviously just arrived here, and we're both settling in well and really looking forward to the season.

What's it like playing and training with Boudi? And what's his personality like?

The way he plays on the pitch is actually very similar to how he is normally. He's very calm and relaxed. And he's very composed on the ball, which is obviously a very important quality for a midfielder. I'm really looking forward to playing with him.

Why did you decide to join Manchester City? What were the ultimate factors that led to your decision?

I think it was the club's history over the past 10 years, including all the trophies they've won, and the players they have here. I want to play with the best players, really test myself, and at the same time strive for success with the team.

When you consider a transfer, how big a role does the team's playing style play? Obviously, there were other clubs interested in you, and you know how big a club Manchester City is. But from a player's perspective, is that also something you have to seriously consider, to see if the club's style suits you?

Yes, I think so. But I also believe I can adapt to any style. I think as a player, you have to have that ability to adapt to different coaches and different ways of playing. I thought Manchester City was a great fit for me.

Speaking of the World Cup, you obviously played against and alongside some of the world's top players there. Did that experience help you adapt more smoothly to Manchester City, including training and daily life here?

I think so. The World Cup is obviously the biggest stage in football, and for both of us to perform on that stage gives you a lot of confidence before joining a new team. Of course, joining Manchester City itself is still a very big step, but that experience really gave me confidence that I belong here, and it made me feel like this is a place where I can find a sense of belonging.

Manchester City has obviously undergone huge changes, with Guardiola leaving, Enzo Maresca arriving, and some players leaving while new ones joined. What's your first impression of the new coach since arriving here?

I like him very much. I think, as you said, it's a huge change for everyone, not just for me, but for everyone in the team. It's the beginning of a new era. I think one era has ended, but a new era always has to begin. Maresca has been very good to me and the team; he's been working hard to build confidence in this new team and push us forward.

The team has had an excellent start. There's a very important Manchester Derby coming up on Sunday. What do you think of the performances in the previous few matches?

Other than that very first final, I think it's been almost a perfect start. But if you look at the Premier League, we've had a very good start, and the Champions League game the other day was the same. And we're only just getting started. I think you can see that we have more to show, and the team's performance is getting better and better. As for Sunday's game, I'm really looking forward to it.

Before joining Manchester City, you had obviously played against quite a few players who are now in the squad. How is your relationship with them since coming to the club? After all, as opponents, you already knew what kind of abilities these players had.

I'm just very happy now that I can finally play with them instead of continuing to play against them. I've obviously played in the Premier League for a few years and know the top players in this league well. It's really great to be part of their team now, and I'm gradually building relationships with everyone. All in all, I'm very excited about all of this.

Let's talk about the midfield. This has always been a very talked-about topic at Manchester City, especially considering some players have left the club, and you also mentioned it's a bit like a new era now. How exciting is it for you to be part of such a young, refreshed midfield combination?

Very exciting. I think our midfield is really strong, and we have good squad depth. As you said, Boudi performed exceptionally well after coming on the other day, and he's especially calm on the ball. We really have a lot of very good players here.

Enzo has also joined. So I think it's a very good midfield, and I hope we can really show everyone what we're capable of.

Against Porto, we saw all three of your new midfielders on the pitch at the same time for a short period, I remember it was about 10 minutes or so. How do you think this combination would work if the three of you were to form the midfield in the future?

I think there could be different ways of playing. You might see Enzo playing a bit further forward than me and Ayyoub. But I think such a combination would definitely work. And I think the partnership between me and Boudi can also work perfectly, and we can continue to build chemistry on that foundation.

How do you feel about Enzo joining?

Very good. Obviously, in previous games, we often played against each other, with a lot of battles between us. But he's the kind of player that once he becomes your teammate, you'll fully support him and be willing to fight for him.

Do you prefer a more free-flowing style of play, or do you also like a more disciplined approach where you know exactly where you should be in the system?

Honestly, I can do both; I don't mind which one. I've worked with quite a few coaches in the past, so I think being able to adjust according to what each coach asks of you is a very important skill in football. I think I have that ability; I can adapt to both ways, so it's really not a problem for me.

What do you like most about playing in your position?

I think for me, it's being able to be constantly involved in the game. Whether it's defending, attacking, or receiving the ball, you're always involved. In midfield, you just can't switch off. You need to always be involved in the game and always try to help your teammates. For me, that's what I truly enjoy.

You've obviously played at Old Trafford before and faced Manchester United. But specifically in midfield, their midfield also has some new faces now. What do you think about the midfield battle this time?

Yes, that's right. I think it's a battle between two teams where both midfields have quite a few new faces, and it will be very interesting to watch. And I completely believe in the strength of our midfield, and I believe we can get the three points.

Judging by the team's start to the season and how you're gradually gelling together, there's clearly strong confidence within the squad. How much does that confidence help on the biggest stage of competition? You've just played in the Champions League and got a good result, and now you're heading into the Manchester Derby.

It helps a lot. I think the team's confidence is very high right now. Although we've only played three or four games, there's still room for improvement. After this interview, we're going to training, and we'll continue to improve on what we didn't do well in the midweek game. But yes, I think all the players' confidence is very high right now, and that's an ideal state to be in before the derby.

Boudi just talked about the changes he's experienced since coming here. What about you? Since joining Manchester City, do you feel you've changed or made some progress?

I've been here for about a month now, so that means another month of training and more game experience. As he said, we have a lot of very good players around us. I think everyone is learning from each other every day.

I can learn something from Boudi's way of playing, and he can learn something from my game. We can push each other and then go out on the pitch and perform well.

Erling Haaland was just mentioned, and he said he wished Boudi had made that pass. Do you like this kind of communication between players? For example, someone might say, "I wish you had handled it this way," and there's this back-and-forth communication where everyone gradually finds their rhythm with each other while also joking around?

Yes, I think it helps us build our relationships with each other. When you have a striker like Erling up front, he demands the ball, and our job is to get the ball to him so he can score. So, supporting him and creating chances for him is our responsibility. I think that's also an area we'll continue to work on.

Since joining, have you talked to anyone from the club, past or present? For example, about the stage of your career you're currently in, and what all of this really means. You're both very young, but you've reached this position and are playing for such a club. You're at a very important stage right now, how are you handling all of this?

No, I haven't specifically talked to anyone about these things. But I think you're right, we're obviously both very young. He's much younger than me, so even though we're in similar positions now, he's probably about 5 years younger than me. For Boudi, it might be even more difficult.

But I think over the past few years, I've slowly learned to deal with these things calmly. Coming to a team with responsibility can indeed be difficult sometimes. But every day, I'm just trying to prove my worth. That's basically it.
