On August 4, Szoboszlai stated that he trusts Liverpool's recruitment team.

Liverpool has only signed two new players this summer so far, Jeremy Jacquet and Viktor Muñoz. After last season, the team lost Salah, Robertson, and Konate. "But if the management and the manager decide to sign a player, we will be very happy and welcome him warmly. The Hungarian midfielder was impressed by the performances of Nduka, Ndiaye, and academy graduate Luke Chambers in filling defensive gaps during the US tour. Young midfielder Trey Nyoni was arguably Liverpool's best player in their three games in Nashville, New York, and Chicago.

"I've always known Trey Nyoni is a good player," he added. "He's shown his quality many times in training, and also when he's had opportunities in cup games and even in the Premier League. Speaking about his teammate Mac Allister, Szoboszlai wished to clarify previous comments.
